The resolution will move through the committees and then to the City Council next week for final ratification.

Therefore, it is still too soon to celebrate the deal as done. Indeed, AC Milan and Inter are on the verge of fulfilling their dream.

The sale must be approved by the end of September. Then, Inter and Milan can begin the project to build a new stadium. In what is currently the car park of the Stadio Meazza.

The specific deadline is November 10, 2025. The second tier of the San Siro was built 70 years exactly on that date.

After that date it will become near impossible to get approval to demolish or refurbish that part of the San Siro.

This would make it extremely difficult for the clubs to get approval to demolish or even restructure that part of the stadium.

Moreover, it will be a massive boost for the clubs’ long-term projects. It will give them full control over matchday revenues and commercial developments.

For the city, the deal promises significant urban renewal.

Last but not least, the new San Siro will probably be one of the host venues for EURO 2032 when the time comes.
