Newly-promoted Monza have officially announced their signing of centre-back Jan Ziolkowski on loan with an option to buy from Roma.
Monza have secured the services of the 21-year-old central defender on an initial season-long loan deal with a future option to buy that will be worth €18m according to reports from the Corriere dello Sport.

Monza have confirmed that this is an option to buy and not an obligation.
“The Polish defender arrives on a temporary basis from Roma until June 20, 2027, with an option to buy in favour of the Biancorossi,” read a statement on the club website on Monday morning.
Ziolkowski joined Roma from hometown club Legia Warsaw at a reported cost of €6m last summer and went on to make 18 appearances in Serie A plus a further four in the Europa League.

The three-time Poland international was typically an understudy to the likes of Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka and Mario Hermoso, though, which limited him to just five league starts in 2025-26.
Though Hermoso has left the club, Roma have brought in two new central defenders in Konstantinos Koulierakis and Leonardo Balerdi this summer, which means that opportunities for Ziolkowski might’ve been even harder to come by than in the previous season.
