Official: Napoli release Ngonge and Folorunsho to Monza, Cheddira sold to Avellino | OneFootball

Napoli are whittling down their squad, officially loaning Cyril Ngonge and Michael Folorunsho to Monza, while selling Walid Cheddira to Avellino.

The Partenopei went into the summer knowing that they had to tighten their belts on the transfer market, unable to bring in any new players until some had been sold first.

They completed a triple exit today, with two players going to newly-promoted Serie A side Monza.

Forward Folorunsho arrived at the Monzello training ground for his medical tests this afternoon and his move will be a dry loan.

Ngonge has already completed his tests and been loaned to Monza with an option to buy at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old Belgium international was purchased from Verona in January 2024 for €20m, but never made his mark, going on loan to Torino and Espanyol.

Cheddira is another player now off the Napoli books, as the Morocco international has officially completed his sale to Avellino, reportedly at a cost of €3.5m.

He had been on loans to numerous clubs over the years, including Espanyol, Sassuolo and Lecce.
