Napoli confirm the signing of Leonardo Spinazzola and insist Giovanni Di Lorenzo will remain their captain ‘for many years.’

Antonio Conte’s Napoli take shape as the Partenopei have just confirmed their first summer signing in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Napoli confirmed the signing of Spinazzola on a free transfer with an official statement on Wednesday.

Multiple reports claim that the ex-Roma defender has signed a two-year contract at the Stadio Maradona.

In a separate statement published on their official X account, Napoli said their captain, Di Lorenzo, would remain at the club beyond the summer.

“Napoli read on certain media that they’d still need to clear the air with Di Lorenzo,” the Partenopei said in a statement.

“Evidently, such media are misinformed because the positive ‘clarification’ between the club and the captain already happened a few weeks ago.

“It is clear, therefore, that Di Lorenzo will continue being the Napoli captain for many years.”
