Neal Maupay (28) has completed a deadline day move from Everton to Marseille on a loan deal with a reported obligatory purchase option worth around €4m, both clubs have announced. Once that option is triggered, the former OGC Nice striker will be tied to OM until 2028. Olympique de Marseille already signed Elye Wahi and Mason Greenwood this summer, however, the Ligue 1 side have been forced into the market for another striker following Faris Moumbagna’s ACL injury.
The 28-year-old Maupay joined Everton in August 2022, making 32 appearances for the Toffees and scoring one goal. He spent the 2023-2024 on loan at Brentford FC. The OGC Nice academy graduate underwent his medical yesterday and will wear the #32 jersey with Roberto De Zerbi’s Les Phocéens.
