Nice have this morning announced the signing of French youth international midfielder Alexis Beka Beka on a permanent deal from Lokomotiv Moscow.
Although Les Aiglons have not disclosed the transfer fee, L’Équipe have indicated that the final agreement with the Russia club was over a €14m deal including bonuses, with the player signing a five-year contract on the French Riviera.
Beka Beka was new manager Lucien Favre’s priority midfield signing, amid a slow transfer window for the club as the Frenchman becomes only their second signing of the window after the arrival of Romanian winger Rareș Ilie from Rapid Bucarest.
The 21-year-old returns to France after a year in Russia – having initially signed a five-year deal with the Muscovites after moving from formative club Caen in a €6m deal.
He made 19 appearances last season in the league, registering four assists, while also playing in all six of the team’s Europa League group stage matches, as they finished last behind Galatasaray, Lazio and Marseille.
