Ligue 2 side Niort have today confirmed the sacking of manager Pascal Plancque after the club lost in shocking circumstances to an overseas club from the small island of Réunion, Saint-Pierroise.
This side travelled 9,366km to Niort to win and become the 1st non-mainland side to qualify for the Coupe de France Last 32 in 31 years.
As a result, Niort, who currently sit 18th in the French second division, have decided to sack Plancque.
Jean-Philippe Faure will run things in the interim as Niort look for a new boss.
