OGC Nice have been desperate to bring in attacking reinforcements. They now have one – Kevin Carlos Omoruyi (24).

Nice have already lost two important forwards this summer. Evann Guessand left earlier this month to join Aston Villa, whilst Gaëtan Laborde left earlier in the window and made a move to the Middle East. It has left Nice very short in the No.9 slot, especially since the only recognised option in this position, Terem Moffi, has not fully recovered from the ACL injury that kept him out for almost the entirety of last season.

To remedy that, Omoruyi has been brought in from Swiss side Basel. The Spaniard, in his only season with the Swiss side, netted 15 goals in 40 matches. Nice have not revealed the fee, nor the length of the player’s contract with the club. L’Équipe understands that he has signed a three-year deal, with the fee thought to be around €6m.

Another striker is expected at Nice. Talks are ongoing to try and sign Lassine Sinayoko from AJ Auxerre. However, for now, there is no agreement on the fee, with L’AJA asking for more than the €6m currently being offered by Le Gym. A second offer is expected.
