Former France youth international striker Willem Geubbels (24) has joined Paris FC from St. Gallen, both clubs have announced. The former Olympique Lyonnais Academy product has signed a five-year deal with the promoted Ligue 1 side, who face Angers SCO this Sunday at Stade Raymond-Kopa. St. Gallen have accepted to part ways with their in-form striker in exchange for a club-record €9m transfer fee. Geubbels’ move reportedly includes a further €2.5 m in add-ons.

Geubbels is the fifth signing of Paris FC this summer transfer window after Otavio, Nhoa Sangui, Moses Simon and Thibault de Smet. The 24-year-old has logged three goals in as many games with St. Gallen this season. In the previous campaign, Geubbels logged a remarkable return of 17 goals and three assists. The Lyon Academy product joined AS Monaco in a €20m move when he was still 16. Geubbels never really lived up to the hype and he left Les Monégasques as a free agent. Now, he’s back in Ligue 1.
