Official: Parma part ways with head coach Carlos Cuesta | OneFootball

Parma have parted company with Carlos Cuesta, announcing the decision on Sunday during the international break and just days after a league win.

In a statement, the club said the split followed internal discussions and came down to a disagreement over direction rather than results.

“Parma Calcio 1913 announces that Carlos Cuesta is no longer the coach of the men’s first team,” it read.

“Following internal discussions between the club and the coach, it was agreed that the conditions no longer existed for the professional relationship to continue, particularly regarding the development of the sporting project. The necessary conditions for the work undertaken to continue were no longer there, and this shared decision was reached.”

Coaching staff to take Monday’s session as Parma continue work during break

The club confirmed that Monday’s training session will be run by the club’s technical staff while they work on an appointment.

The statement closed with thanks from president Kyle J. Krause, CEO Federico Cherubini and the sporting directorate for Cuesta’s “months of work, commitment and dedication.”

Reports in Italy suggest the friction between Cuesta and the hierarchy dated back to the start of the season and was not tied to results, Parma won their most recent fixture before the break.
