Former France international midfielder Patrick Vieira has been relieved of his duties as Genoa CFC head coach, the Serie A side has announced on Saturday. Vieira’s managerial job was hanging by a thread following the Rossoblu‘s home defeat to Cremonese on Wednesday. Genoa CFC are winless and at the bottom of the Serie A standings.

The former Arsenal legend was appointed Genoa head coach in November 2024. He successfully maintained the Rossoblu above the relegation zone and earned a two-year contract extension until 2027.
