Lazio have announced the departure of their young winger Sana Fernandes, who joins Juve Stabia on loan with an option to buy.
Over the past few years, the 20-year-old was considered among the most exciting young prospects at Formello. While he was called up to the first team on a few occasions, he never made his senior debut. This summer, the Guinean-Portuguese was heavily involved in the club’s pre-season friendlies, but Gennaro Gattuso opted against keeping him at his disposal.
On Thursday, the official Lazio website confirmed that Fernandes has signed for Juve Stabia on an initial loan deal. The Serie B club will have the option to buy the player at the end of the season, while the Biancocelesti have added a buy-back clause, thus maintaining their leverage over the player’s future.
SS Lazio announces that it has temporarily transferred, with an option to buy and a counter-option, the registration rights of the player Sana Eusebio Fernandes Mango to SS Juve Stabia.
Curiously, this is the exact formula the two clubs agreed on when Romano Floriani Mussolini moved from the capital side to Juve Stabia, who ended up buying the player, but the Biancocelesti used their counter-option to bring him back before loaning him to Cremonese last summer. The 23-year-old has now returned to Formello and has been included in Gattuso’s plans for the new campaign.
While the official statement didn’t disclose any figures, La Lazio Siamo Noi claims that Juve Stabia can buy Fernandes next summer for €1.2 million, while Lazio’s buy-back option is set at €1.5 million.
