Paris Saint-Germain forward Ilyes Housni (18) has joined Qatari side Al-Sadd Doha on a season-long loan deal.
Housni is one of the most promising PSG players coming through PSG’s academy. Last season, he played 14 minutes of first-team football across two matches, however, he featured much more prominently in the UEFA Youth League, scoring eight goals and registering three assists in seven matches.
However, Housni is in need of more first-team experiences. As a result, the France youth international has been loaned to Qatari side Al-Sadd. Housni became the third player to make the move to Qatar in the space of a week. Marco Verratti joined Al-Arabi for a reported €45m fee last week, whilst ahead of Sunday’s deadline, Julian Draxler also made the move, joining Al-Ahli. The German international was reportedly hesitant about making the move but agreed to join the Qatari club ahead of the deadline. PSG reportedly received between €8m-9m for Draxler, who spent last season on loan at Benfica. However, unlike Verratti and Draxler, Housni will return to the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
