Rachid Ghezzal (33) who came through the ranks at Olympique Lyonnais, has rejoined the club on a one-year deal, it has been announced.

Ghezzal came through Lyon’s presitigious Lyon academy, going on to make 119 appearances for the first-team, scoring 14 goals and registering 20 assists during that time. The Algeria international left OL to join AS Monaco on a free transfer back in 2017, before than going on to join Leicester City one year later.

He has also had loan spells at Fiorentina, as well as at Besiktas, before making the move to the Turkish side permanent back in 2021. He then left Besiktas on a free transfer last summer, joining Turkish rivals Rizespor. There, he scored four goals in 25 appearances before the expiry of his deal this summer.

A free agent ever since, he has now rejoined Lyon on a one-year deal. There is the option for a further year, based on game time accrued this season.
