La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Tuesday announced a setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that defender Héctor Bellerín is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Right-back Bellerín was for his part in from the off this past weekend, as Betis marked their return to action post-international break in a meeting with Girona.

En route to a disappointing 1-1 stalemate, however, the former Arsenal man was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.

Bellerín, in turn, was put through a round of medical checks and scans in Seville earlier today.

And the tests in question revealed what is described by the Verdiblancos simply as ‘a soleus (calf) injury’.

As per a statement across Real Betis’ website and social media platforms:

‘Héctor Bellerín experienced discomfort in his right leg during last Sunday’s match against Girona FC. This issue forced him to leave the game, and the tests carried out by the Club’s medical services have confirmed that he is suffering from a soleus injury.

‘His return to group training will depend on how the injury progresses.’
