La Liga giants Real Madrid have announced the 2nd departure from the club’s playing ranks in the space of mere hours. This comes amid confirmation that César Palacios has followed Gonzalo García out the exit door.

Frontman Gonzalo was earlier this evening unveiled as the latest arrival at Premier League outfit Fulham, marking a reunion for the Spaniard with former manager Álvaro Arbeloa.

He is understood to have secured for Los Blancos a sum in the region of €40 million.

And as alluded to above, Gonzalo has since been followed to west London by a midfield academy graduate in Spain’s capital. César Palacios for his part emerged onto the first-team picture at the Bernabéu last season, ultimately racking up five La Liga appearances.

Aware of the uphill battle facing him in carving out regular starting minutes under José Mourinho in 2026/27, though, the 21-year-old recently opened the door to a new adventure away from his home country.

Ex-boss Arbeloa, in turn, set his sights on Palacios, too. And late on Monday, ‘The Prince of La Fábrica’ has indeed penned terms at Craven Cottage.

As per a statement released across Real Madrid’s social media platforms:

‘Real Madrid C. F. and Fulham FC have agreed on the transfer of our player César Palacios. Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new chapter of their lives.’
