After a month full of action-packed football, the FIFA Club World Cup has finally concluded with Chelsea securing the trophy.

For Real Madrid, it was a disappointing showing as Los Blancos were humiliated 4-0 in the semifinals by European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The heavy defeat discounted all of the positives Real Madrid had shown during the campaign. But one position the club cannot ignore is Gonzalo Garcia.

Garcia makes is to Team of the Tournament

Garcia, in fact, has become the only Real Madrid player to feature in FIFA Club World Cup’s official Team of the Tournament, released by DAZN recently.

With four goals to his name, Garcia leads the attack in TOTT, featuring alongside Jhon Arias in what looks like a 4-4-2 formation.

Garcia’s selection was hardly surprising as the Real Madrid attacker ended the tournament as the highest goal-scorer.

Although Angel Di Maria, Serhou Guirassy and Marcos Leonardo had scored the same number of goals, Garcia was given the nod on account of his one assist.

Garcia is also one of just four players who are not from either Chelsea or PSG in the Team of the Tournament.

The three others include Arias, goalkeeper Bono and defender Thiago Silva, who has interestingly played for both PSG and Chelsea.

Ending the tournament as the top goalscorer could certainly serve as a big boost for Garcia as he looks to make a big breakthrough in the first team next season.

With Xabi Alonso at the helm, one would expect the youngster may receive quite a few opportunities to prove himself,
