A week after he made his first appearance of the 2025/26 season, Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy has suffered yet another injury, the club has confirmed.

“Following tests carried out today on our player Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his right leg. His recovery will be monitored,” the statement read.

Mendy had been out of action since April, when he suffered an injury in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

After undergoing surgery and rehabilitation, the 30-year-old left-back made his return to action against Olympiacos, starting at left-back ahead of Fran Garcia, exactly seven months after his previous injury, and put in an impressive performance.

However, the veteran defender has now picked up yet another injury, which will rule him out for the rest of the year, reports journalist Arancha Rodriguez.

Indeed, the French left-back is not expected to play again for Real Madrid in 2025, meaning he will miss the matches against Athletic Club, Celta Vigo, Manchester City, Alaves, and Sevilla for certain.

It remains to be seen if he is ready for Real Madrid’s first match of the new year against Real Betis.
