Real Madrid were going into today’s La Liga clash against Las Palmas without Eduardo Camavinga, with an injury, and Luka Modric, due to suspension.

Now, Los Blancos have lost another midfielder in the lead-up to the match as Aurelien Tchouameni has been withdrawn from the squad due to discomfort in his leg.

“Real Madrid will face UD Las Palmas this afternoon at the Santiago Bernabéu in the 20th round of the League, with Tchouameni missing at the last minute due to discomfort in his left leg,” the statement from the club read.

The statement also confirmed that Real Madrid have called up young midfielder Chema Andres and centre-back Jacobo Ramon to the squad following this development.

Tchouameni has been a permanent fixture in the team under Carlo Ancelotti, mostly being used as a centre-back this season, where he has struggled.

However, earlier this week, the midfielder played in his natural position in the game against Celta Vigo and showed signs of improvement.

The Frenchman was certain to start today against Las Palmas given the absences of Camavinga and Modric, but Ancelotti must now find solutions to replace him. Dani Ceballos will likely end up being the beneficiary.
