Official: Real Madrid star undergoes successful sugery | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have announced that defender Dani Carvajal on Tuesday morning underwent a successful surgical procedure.

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Our captain, Dani Carvajal, underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee today. The operation was performed by Dr Manuel Leyes under the supervision of Real Madrid’s medical team.

‘Carvajal will begin his recovery programme in the coming days.’

News of Carvajal’s latest injury setback was of course forthcoming on Monday evening.

After marking his return to the pitch in Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over arch rivals Barcelona, word was forthcoming that the 33-year-old was dealing with a loose body in his right knee joint.

Surgery was therefore quickly pencilled in, with Carvajal understood to be facing up to a spell of several months on the sidelines.

Blancos summer signing Trent Alexander-Arnold, as a result, can look forward to an extended stretch of starts moving forward.
