Six matchdays into the new season in La Liga, and Real Madrid are yet to drop a single point, and are seated comfortably at the top.

With Xabi Alonso at the helm, Real Madrid have a 100% record this season, and things are looking good for the Spanish capital giants after what was a disappointing campaign last time out.

Xabi Alonso, Mbappe, Guler nominated for La Liga awards

Given their exploits, Real Madrid find themselves well-represented in the La Liga monthly awards for September, much like it was in August.

Indeed, Alonso is in the running to win the La Liga Coach of the Month for September, having already won it for August.

The Real Madrid boss guided the team to wins over Real Sociedad, Espanyol, and Levante, with an aggregate scoreline of 8-2. He will go up against Hansi Flick and Eder Sarabia for the prize.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe, who has started the season like a house on fire, is in the running for the La Liga Player of the Month award for September.

The French superstar has scored four goals in Real Madrid’s three league games this month, making a strong case for the prize. He will battle it out against Pedri, Etta Eyong, Pablo Fornals, and Ruben Vargas.

On top of that, Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler finds himself in the running for the La Liga U23 Player of the Month for September.

Having been moved to a new role in midfield this season, the Turkish prodigy has grown in stature with each passing game, and his budding partnership with Mbappe has been crucial for Real Madrid.

Guler will face competition from Fermin Lopez, Javi Guerra, Carlos Alvarez, and Martim Neto.
