The international break has not served Real Madrid well so far with the club receiving some major injury blows along the way.
Last night, Kylian Mbappe suffered a blow to his ankle on duty with the French national team and is returning to Madrid for evaluation and recovery.
Along with him, Franco Mastantuono has also found himself at the receiving end of a similar blow and also sees his international break cut short.
As confirmed by the Argentine national team, Mastantuono has been ruled out of their ongoing international fixtures due to a muscle overload in his left thigh.
His break is thus over and he will no longer feature for the World Champions in their upcoming games.
Instead, the idea is for him to return to Spain and rest in Madrid to recover from the muscular overload at the earliest.
After all, Real Madrid have a complicated schedule ahead and Mastantuono will have a big part to play.
So far this season, the teenage star has impressed despite arriving newly at the club and has started five of Real Madrid’s league games and made appearances in seven. He has scored one goal in that duration and averages 0.7 key passes per game.
Xabi Alonso and Co. will hope the player can be back in time to feature in Real Madrid’s first game after the international break which will be a gruelling one away against Getafe.
After all, the 18-year-old has slotted in perfectly into the right-wing role for Los Blancos and brings a sense of stability and creativity with him – something the team has lacked in the department for a long time.
