Roma have officially announced the signing of France international Manu Koné on a permanent deal from Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Reports confirm that the Giallorossi have agreed to pay a fee of €20m plus bonuses of up to €5m for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Koné has put pen to paper on a five year contract, which will earn him around €3m per season in wages and will run until the summer of 2029.
He will wear the no.17 shirt during his first season at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Frenchman becomes Roma’s second deadline day signing, following the arrival of Alexis Saelemaekers on a season-long loan deal from Milan. The Giallorossi have also brought in Matias Soule, Artem Dovbyk, Enzo Le Fee, Saud Abdulhamid, Samuel Dahl and Maty Ryan this summer.
Koné was part of the France squad that finished runner-s up to Spain at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris. He was also awarded a call-up to Didier Deschamps’s senior national team for upcoming Nations League fixtures against Italy and Belgium.
He also has 79 Bundesliga appearances to his name after a three-year spell with Gladbach.
