Lyon have tonight announced the sale of attacking midfielder Romain Faivre to Bournemouth, with the Premier League club themselves announcing that he has been loaned out to Lorient for the entirety of next season.
Les Gones have indicated that the 24-year-old has moved to the Cherries for a transfer fee of €15m – the exact fee they paid Brest a year and a half ago to initially sign the former Monaco man. The deal also includes a 10% share of any profit made on the player’s future transfer fee.
Faivre initially broke onto the scene at Brest, but struggled once he moved to Lyon, scoring three times in 28 appearances. He was then loaned out to Lorient for the second half of last season, and rediscovered his form on his return to Brittany – he would score five times and register three assist for Régis Le Bris’ men. He is now back with Les Merlus, who have Bournemouth owner Bill Foley as a minority shareholder.
