Eintracht Frankfurt have announced that they have signed Saša Kalajdžić from Wolves in the Premier League on loan for the rest of the season.
There is no purchase option in the loan agreement for the Austrian according to Sky Germany. On bringing Kalajdžić back to the Bundesliga, Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche said: “Sasa has already proven that he can play a very good role in the Bundesliga. His way of playing will bring a new component to our game. He is a strong player with a good position and header game. We are firmly convinced that he can help us immediately due to his experience.”
Kalajdžić left Stuttgart in 2021 for Wolves but failed to make an impact at the club mainly due to a bad ligament injury in his first Premier League game. The arrival of the 26-year-old will help reduce the impact of losing Omar Marmoush to the Africa Cup of Nations. Kalajdžić and the Egyptian played together at Stuttgart in a somewhat successful tandem in the 2021/22 season.
This is Frankfurt’s third completed signing of the summer after announcing the loan of Donny van de Beek as well as the summer transfer of Nathaniel Brown from Nürenberg.
Whether Frankfurt will sign another striker in the winter as previously reported is unknown as their move for Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi fell through at the beginning of the week.
