Andreas Schicker will remain managing director for sport at TSG Hoffenheim despite VfL Wolfsburg's reported interest in bringing him in to replace Sebastian Schindzielorz as sporting director.

The Bundesliga side announced on Sunday that Schicker will continue in the job after “several clubs” expressed interest in him in recent weeks.

Managing director for marketing and sales Tim Jost will also stay at the Sinsheim club.

“I am pleased that Andreas Schicker wants to continue the successful path of TSG, which he has significantly shaped,” said Christoph Henssler on behalf of the board, which he currently leads on an interim basis together with Frank Engelhardt.

"At the shareholder level, we held trusting and productive discussions together with [shareholder] Dietmar Hopp. It is important to all of us to return to stability, continuity, and calm after what have undoubtedly been turbulent weeks.”

Schicker commented:

“The interest from other clubs is an honor and a strong confirmation of the work we are doing here in the Kraichgau. At the same time, the TSG shareholders have given me a clear perspective for continuing to work successfully here.

“We deliberately rebuilt the team this summer, and now it is important that we can focus on our work in peace. Together with the team, coaching staff, and all club employees, I will do everything to achieve our ambitious goals. I am pleased with this development, but we are not finished yet. We are unbeaten in six matches, and I hope that football-related matters will once again take center stage at this great club. That is where my full focus lies.”
