As communicated by Atlético Madrid’s official website, Sergio Camello has renewed his contract with the club and will spend the next season on loan at Rayo Vallecano.
There was a great deal of uncertainty over the 21-year-old’s future at Los Colchoneros, however, the club decided to renew his contract until 2026.
Camello spent the past season on loan at Club Deportivo Mirandés in La Liga 2, where he scored 15 goals in 36 league appearances.
His move to Rayo Vallecano for the upcoming season will mean he will gain invaluable experience and playing time at the highest level of Spanish football.
Born in Madrid, Camello arrived to Atlético Madrid at the age of 8 and has successfully made it to the senior side. It would have been very unlikely to see him break into the first team this season, however, a loan spell at Rayo Vallecano would help him continue developing as a player in his home city.
