A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Sevilla has on Tuesday secured a departure from the club.
The player in question? Lucas Ocampos.
The name of versatile winger Ocampos had taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Nervión over the course of recent days.
As much came after word was forthcoming that the 30-year-old was inching towards bringing a close to the Sevilla chapter of his career.
Though the summer transfer window has now come to a close across Europe’s leading leagues, it remains in full swing in any other areas of the football world.
One such country is Mexico, where it was recently revealed that Liga MX giants Rayados were expressing a keen interest in the aforementioned Ocampos’ signature.
And, on Tuesday, such interest has officially borne fruit for the Monterrey-based outfit.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Sevilla:
‘An agreement has been reached with Rayados for the transfer of Lucas Ocampos.’
Ocampos’ time at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium comes to a close following five years, over 200 appearances, and two Europa League titles.
