Chelsea FC and BlueCo-owned partner club RC Strasbourg Alsace have confirmed that Dutch U21 international centre-forward Emanuel Emegha (22) will make the switch from La Meinau to Stamford Bridge from next season onwards. The 22-year-old has signed a pre-agreement with the Club World Cup winners. Emegha is poised to sign a seven-year deal, which would tie him to Chelsea FC until 2033.

Emegha’s upcoming switch to Stamford Bridge hardly comes as a surprise, given the form he has shown with Liam Rosenior’s Alsatians since his arrival two years ago from Sturm Graz. The 22-year-old has already logged 26 goals and five assists in 64 outings for Strasbourg. He has hit the ground running since the start of the season with three goals in four games.

In a video message posted on Strasbourg’s socials, Emegha – who has been appointed captain – said he was grateful to the Ligue 1 club and its supporters for everything they have done for him. “I just want to focus 100% on Strasbourg until the end of the season, and then, I will leave. I don’t want to have rumours or things that can distract my team or me. I think it is the best decision to bring it out right now.
