Official | Timothy Weah joins Marseille from Juventus | OneFootball

Olympique de Marseille have confirmed the signing of Timothy Weah (25) from Juventus, with L’Équipe reporting that the two clubs agreed for the US international to join Marseille on loan for the season for a €1m fee, to which the deal will then become permanent next summer for a mandatory fee of €14m with bonuses up to €3m.

For Weah, it’s a return back to a country where he has spent the majority of his career (having previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and Lille OSC). At both of his former clubs, the versatile winger became a Ligue 1 title winner, something that Marseille will be hoping he can repeat.

Weah will likely compete for the starting spot on the right of Roberto De Zerbi’s back four, however, he has the ability to also play as a forward and can provide cover for Mason Greenwood (23) on the right of the attack.
