Official: Valencia & Villarreal announce new signings | OneFootball

A pair of La Liga clubs have this week announced fresh additions to their respective first-team ranks.

The sides in question? Valencia, and Villarreal.

The former’s addition comes in the attacking third, in the form of the long-time target Luis Rioja.

The name of wide-man Rioja has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Valencia throughout the summer transfer window.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the Deportivo Alavés standout had been identified as a leading target on the part of the Mestalla brass.

And, as alluded to above, late this week, Los Che have officially landed their man.

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Deportivo Alavés for the signing of attacker Luis Rioja until June 30th 2026.’

And joining their La Liga rivals in adding fresh blood to their squad with a view to the season ahead are Villarreal.

The Yellow Submarine are known to have been targetting reinforcements at the back for several weeks now, eager to shore up the defensive ranks of boss Marcelino.

And precisely as much, late on Thursday, was made official, too.

The latest player to have taken his talents to La Cerámica comes in the form of Logan Costa, a central defender signed from Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse:

‘Villarreal CF and Toulouse FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Logan Costa, who will play for the Yellows for the next six seasons, until June 2030.’
