Will Still has been named the new manager at AJ Auxerre. The former Southampton manager succeeds Christophe Pélissier in the role.
Pélissier once again ensured Auxerre’s safety in Ligue 1 last season, having brought the club back into the top flight two seasons prior. However, despite that achievement, he departed, with the club’s owners announcing an ambition to take the next step.
That came through the appointment of a new manager in the form of Still. The Anglo-Belgian manager has been out of work since leaving Southampton towards the start of the season. Prior to that, he had experience of managing Stade de Reims and then RC Lens.
Still therefore has Ligue 1 experience and, in recent months, expressed a desire to return to the league in which he has achieved his best results.
Auxerre have confirmed that he has signed a deal that will run until the summer of 2028. There is also the option to extend for a further year.
