Official: Yan Couto leaves Borussia Dortmund on loan | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have officially confirmed that Yan Couto has joined Serie A outfit Como on loan for the 2026/27 campaign.

As part of the agreement, the Italian Champions League participants will take on the 24-year-old’s full salary throughout the season, easing Dortmund’s wage bill by around €5 million. The Bundesliga side are also expected to receive a loan fee worth up to €3 million, while the deal reportedly includes a purchase option valued between €20 million and €22 million.

Dortmund invested a total of €25 million to sign Couto from Manchester City, but the Brazilian has struggled to cement a regular place in the starting XI since arriving at Signal Iduna Park.

A move to Como now offers the right wing-back the opportunity for regular first-team football and the chance to feature in the Champions League, with Dortmund hoping the spell in Italy will help the 24-year-old rediscover his best form and increase his long-term value.
