Montpellier have announced the loan signing of Torino FC striker Yann Karamoh (25) on Deadline Day. The Stade Malherbe Caen youth product will spend the remainder of the Ligue 1 season at La Mosson. The loan deal includes an option to make the move permanent. The former Inter Milan player was playing a mostly peripheral role in Turin, logging only ten appearances this Serie A season, nine of them coming off the bench.
In search of playing time and looking for a return in France, Karamoh have decided to join forces with Michel Der Zakarian’s Montpellier HSC. He will wear the #23 jersey for La Paillade. Karamoh numerically replaces the departing Genoa loanee Kelvin Yeboah, who has been recalled by the Serie A side.
“I am very happy to be here“, Karamoh said upon his loan signing to Montpellier. “Everyone welcomed me with a smile. I really appreciate this family-like atmosphere here. I am happy to come back to France and I know those close to me are happy about it.” Montpellier will play Rennes away on Saturday.
