FC Bayern will be letting a few more players go this summer. A transfer involving the record champions was officially confirmed today, Wednesday.
Alexander Nübel’s move from FC Bayern to Besiktas in Turkey is now finalized. The goalkeeper arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday to undergo his medical exam.
Prior to that, the Turkish club and FC Bayern had agreed on a transfer fee. According to Sky, the record champions will receive a fixed fee of 6.5 million euros plus an additional 5 million euros in bonus payments.
FC Bayern had already made it clear to the player that they no longer had plans for Nübel, who was most recently on loan to VfB Stuttgart.

“Alexander Nübel is a very good goalkeeper who has steadily developed and established himself at FC Bayern, AS Monaco, and VfB Stuttgart. Now he wants to take the next step at Beşiktaş Istanbul. We wish him all the best for his future,” said sporting director Max Eberl in the press release.
In 2020, Nübel—a promising goalkeeper—joined FC Bayern on a free transfer from Schalke 04, but made only four appearances for the club during his entire time in Munich.
As a member of the national team, he traveled with the DFB squad to the World Cup in North America this summer, serving as the third-string goalkeeper on head coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team.
In Istanbul, Nübel is now set to bring his experience to the table and ensure that Besiktas has a reliable presence between the posts. A new era is set to begin at the Turkish club this summer; Vincenzo Italiano has been introduced as the new head coach and has big plans. The plan is to challenge the other two major clubs—Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.
