Now of course, if that happens Liverpool have to replace Salah. They simply cannot just not buy anyone in the January window if they are about to lose their most prolific player from last season.

There's already talk of Antoine Semenyo potentially coming in. However, he is a sought after man and with Arsenal and Manchester City sniffing about for his services, it may be a deal that Liverpool will struggle to get over the line.

Not to worry. According to a report in TEAMtalk Liverpool's scouting officials already have their eyes set on another player. The site claims they are now urging the club's senior recruitment staff to buy Yan Diomande.

Only 19-years-old, Diomande has had an incredible trajectory into top level football. 18 months ago he was playing in the fourth division of USA's men's league.

He then moved to Leganes' B team in Spain and after just a few games earned a promotion to their senior side.

In the summer, Diomande earned a move to RB Leipzig, where he has started the season in terrific form. He's currently averaging a goal or assist 0.83 per 90 minutes.

In total he has 10 goal contributions for club and country already this season. And what makes him even more special is just how progressive he is on the ball.

Diomande is extremely fast and he's a very technical player. He has completed the most take-ons (33) in the Bundesliga so far this season.

His pace combined with his ability to carry the ball and make an impact in the final third do make him an ideal player for Liverpool. He's the type of profile they are lacking on the wing at the moment.

But according to the report RB Leipzig would want €100m for him, which is a pretty insane price to pay for a player who has just 14 senior starts in Europe's top five leagues.

At that point Liverpool would be gambling on his potential. Which is extremely exciting. However, it's a huge gamble and it's not often that Liverpool make such gambles.

For Diomande, it might just be worth it. But only time will tell.
