OGC Nice closing in on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Wahi

According to both Sacha Tavolieri and Sky Switzerland, OGC Nice are inching ever closer to signing Elye Wahi this summer.

Contact has reportedly been made with Wahi's representatives, but the Ligue 1 club is yet to touch base with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Nice, as both sources understand, want to secure Wahi's commitment before submitting an official offer to the Hessen outfit.

One thing is clear – Frankfurt will not recoup much of the €26million they paid Olympique Marseille for Wahi a year and a half ago.

Even with the Côte d'Ivoire international's contract with Frankfurt running up until 2030, they are expected to cut their losses.

Nice, meanwhile, seem happy to pay for the 23-year-old striker who netted 9 goals in 19 games for the French Riviera club on loan last season.
