Florian Thauvin (30) is keen on a return to Ligue 1, and according to Foot Mercato, OGC Nice could provide the France international the opportunity to do so.
Foot Mercato reported in December that Thauvin, currently at Udinese, was pushing for a return to the French top flight. The forward, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, is playing an increasingly peripheral role in the relegation-threatened Serie A side following a managerial change. Having left Olympique de Marseille back in 2021, he is now targeting a return to France.
OGC Nice are in the market for a versatile attacker this January, according to the club’s sporting director Florent Ghisolfi. Thauvin is of interest to Les Aiglons, however, another unnamed Ligue 1 team is in the race to sign the Frenchman. The move would be a loan with the option of making the deal permanent.
According to The Athletic, Le Gym are also interested in Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri, whilst Fabrizio Romano has reported an interest in Lech Poznan’s Kristoffer Velde.
