With his contract set to expire next summer, Jonathan Clauss (31) has been allowed to leave Olympique de Marseille this summer. The French international had a lot of suitors queuing up and is now set to join OGC Nice.

Two years after his arrival from RC Lens, Clauss is set to reunite with Franck Haise, his former head coach with Les Sangs et Or. Now at OGC Nice, the French tactician has made the right-back one of his priorities to strengthen les Aiglons’ back line. Targeted by Naples and Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, Clauss decided to stay in Ligue 1 and join Nice’s ambitious project.

According to a report by Le Parisien, OGC Nice and Marseille have reached an agreement over the transfer of Clauss on a €5M deal. After refusing an opening bid worth €3.5M, Les Phocéens have agreed to the second offer from the Azur Coast outfit. The French international is set to undergo his medical when he returns from holidays in the next few days.
