Badredine Bouanani (19) has seen game time limited at OGC Nice so far this season. The Algerian international is now set to spend the rest of the season on loan at FC Lorient, according to L’Équipe.
Bouanani faces competition from Gaëtan Laborde on the right-hand side of the front three, whilst the arrival of Mohamed-Ali Cho from Real Sociedad further limits the Algerian’s chances of breaking into Francesco Farioli’s starting XI. Having played just 172 minutes of football in all competitions this season, a loan deal was on the cards for Bouanani.
AS Saint-Étienne and FC Metz had shown an interest in the promising winger, however, it is Lorient who are set to take him on a loan deal until the end of the season. The loan will not include an option to make the deal permanent.
The Algerian international, who missed out on the AFCON through injury, will play in one of the two No.10 roles deployed by manager Régis Le Bris. His arrival will compensate for the imminent departure of Romain Faivre, who looks set to be recalled early from his loan spell by parent club Bournemouth.
