A European night between Anderlecht and OL delivered a rare scene as rival fans stood together in celebration.
According to Le Progres, Mauves Army, the ultras in the Anderlecht end, unveiled a giant tifo blending OL’s blue and red with Anderlecht’s purple.
Their bond with Lyon 1950, based in the south stand at Groupama Stadium, dates back to 2006 and remains active.
Lyon supporters often travel, sometimes up to 50, to watch Anderlecht, while Mauves Army occasionally make the trip to Décines.
For this Europa League meeting, around 1,000 Lyon fans joined in, with both ends taking up the other’s chants in a show of solidarity. It made for a unique moment in a typically febrile setting.
