OL will give their remaining first-teamers a full week off during the international break after beating Rennes on Saturday in Décines. According to Le Progres, there is no official fixture before the trip to Lens on Friday the ninth of October.

With more than 15 players called up by their countries, departing between Sunday and Monday depending on travel, only a small group will stay behind at the training ground.

Paulo Fonseca said on Friday that collective sessions or friendlies would be impossible, with only five or six senior players available and the reserves committed to their own matches. He cited Tolisso, Duranville, Abner, Tessmann, Morton and Descamps among those concerned.

The initial plan had been gentle work in Décines early this week, then several days off to balance an early start to preparations in June. After that benchmark victory over the Bretons, the staff have changed course, with no sessions scheduled throughout next week.

It amounts to a welcome bonus for the group after lifting the club onto the Ligue 1 podium going into this long pause.
