Le Progres reports that the LFP has scheduled Ligue 1’s matchday 27, with OL to host Monaco on Sunday 22 March at 15:00, only three days after their Europa League round of 16 second leg against Celta Vigo on Thursday 19 March at 18:45.

That leaves Lyon with less than 72 hours’ recovery between two decisive fixtures. The league game will be broadcast on Ligue 1+.

For Paulo Fonseca’s side, a Sunday afternoon slot shapes up as a physical as well as sporting challenge. The European tie will also be at Groupama Stadium.

Managing the squad will be central with recovery time tight. The Monaco meeting will close a demanding March before the international break brings two weeks of respite, then a trip to Angers in early April.

Lyon won the reverse fixture 3-1 on three January.
