Sky Sports reports that Oleksandr Zinchenko will travel to Amsterdam on Monday for a medical ahead of joining Ajax on loan for the rest of the season.
Nottingham Forest have been considering cutting short the Arsenal full-back’s loan following his struggles on the banks of the Trent.
The process has been complicated by the absence of a break clause in his deal and by a lack of space for him back in Arsenal’s squad.
Since arriving on summer deadline day, he has made 10 appearances for Forest, with only five in the Premier League. The return from injury of Ola Aina has pushed him further down the full-back pecking order.
In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, before the Reds’ meeting with his parent club on Saturday, head coach Sean Dyche said they had spoken, made his situation clear and would see what happens. He added the club were being open with him and described him as a thorough professional who would remain so.
