Olise comes off the bench to fire France past Belgium | OneFootball

Michael Olise produced a stunning late winner as France edged Belgium 1-0 in Brussels to make it two victories from two in the Nations League under Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane made nine changes from Friday’s win over Türkiye, with France struggling to find a breakthrough despite creating several openings. Désiré Doué was particularly dangerous, hitting the crossbar and forcing Senne Lammens into a number of saves.

Belgium also threatened, with Mika Godts and Kevin De Bruyne both going close, but the first half ended goalless despite 14 shots between the sides.

France continued to press after the restart and came close again when debutant Lucas Da Cunha struck the post. Belgium responded through Dodi Lukébakio, who was twice denied by Mike Maignan.

With two minutes of normal time remaining, Olise finally broke the deadlock. The Bayern Munich winger collected the ball inside his own half, powered forward and calmly slotted into the bottom corner.

The victory puts France alone at the top of Group A1, while Belgium’s six-match unbeaten home run came to an end.
