Michael Olise’s future continues to be a hot topic at FC Bayern. While Real Madrid is reportedly courting the French international aggressively, the Munich club is publicly sticking to its clear stance. Internally, however, it appears they are preparing for various scenarios—and in the process, an old acquaintance is once again coming into focus.

Michael Olise is one of the key players on Vincent Kompany’s roster. Nevertheless, speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid shows no signs of abating. According to consistent media reports, the 24-year-old is said to have even hinted during the World Cup that he could envision a move to Los Blancos.

At FC Bayern, the club is maintaining a calm public stance. As long as Olise does not express a desire to leave, club officials see no reason to consider a sale.

Barcola remains on Bayern’s radar

However, the record champions seem prepared just in case. As reported back in early May, FC Bayern continues to be interested in Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old was already high on Munich’s wish list in the summer of 2025. At that time, according to consistent media reports, Bayern held concrete talks with the player’s camp. Barcola is said to have been open to a move in principle, but PSG refused to release him. The record champions subsequently signed Luis Díaz.

The situation may have changed now. Barcola is reportedly unhappy with his role as a reserve in Paris. According to information from transfer insider Ekrem Konur, Bayern has recently inquired again about the French winger’s situation.

Konur also reports that numerous top European clubs—including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and FC Barcelona—are keeping an eye on Barcola. Nevertheless, Bayern, of all teams, is currently considered the most promising suitor.

A transfer, however, is likely to be contingent on one crucial condition. If Michael Olise stays in Munich, signing Barcola would be highly unlikely due to the enormous transfer fee and the intense competition for spots on the offensive wings.

The situation would be different if the French international were to leave. In that case, Barcola could quickly become Munich’s top choice.

Such a transfer, however, would not come cheap. According to Konur, Paris Saint-Germain is demanding at least 70 million euros for the attacking player. Other media outlets even speculate that the French Champions League winner would only be open to talks if the transfer fee were between 80 and 90 million euros.

Should Olise indeed leave FC Bayern, Barcola would still be a candidate who could fill the resulting void both in terms of on-field performance and long-term potential.
