Speculation surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid continues to gain momentum. After the French newspaper L’Équipe reported that the Bayern star wanted to join Los Blancos, BILD has now also confirmed that the 24-year-old is said to have expressed his desire to transfer while with the French national team. However, Bayern Munich hopes to prevent this scenario with a mega-contract.
The rumors surrounding Michael Olise show no signs of abating. According to L’Équipe, the French national team player has already told his teammates at the World Cup that he wants to play for Real Madrid in the future. BILD is now the first German media outlet to confirm this report and also states that Olise has privately expressed his desire to leave.
At Säbener Straße, however, the stance remains clear: FC Bayern is determined to keep its most valuable player and continues to regard him as unsellable.
According to information from BILD, the Munich club is instead working on an early contract extension. Olise’s contract, which runs through 2029, is set to be adjusted for the long term. Under this arrangement, the Frenchman could move into the same salary bracket as Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala in the future. This would mean an annual salary of up to 25 million euros, which would effectively double his current salary.
Lothar Matthäus also considers this scenario the most realistic. “Bayern isn’t even thinking about selling Olise. I think it’s more likely that they’ll extend his contract again and increase his salary,” the all-time national team leader explained in an interview with BILD.
Alternatively, it’s also conceivable that he could stay without a contract extension. Since Olise hasn’t stood out as a difficult personality so far and generally feels at home in Munich, the attacking player could see out his contract and reassess his future at a later date.

BILD describes the riskiest scenario as a potential conflict between the player and the club should Bayern categorically reject a transfer and pressure Olise to leave. Currently, however, there are no signs that such a situation could develop.
According to the tabloid, a sale would be conceivable only for a record-breaking transfer fee anyway. Although Real Madrid is repeatedly linked to the Frenchman, Bayern officials have recently emphasized on multiple occasions that Olise is not for sale.
President Herbert Hainer made it unmistakably clear: “Michael Olise is a Bayern Munich player who still has a long contract—and we are not a club that sells players. He is not for sale.”
Honorary President Uli Hoeneß also recently spoke out clearly against a sale: “We have many millions of fans all over the world, and it does them little good if we have 200 million in the bank and play worse soccer every Saturday because of it.”
