Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Steven Benda on a one-year contract, with the club holding an option for a further year.

The club said in a statement that the 27-year-old is an experienced addition who will add depth and competition to their goalkeeping group, and that he will work hard every day to push team-mates while fitting the strong culture at the club.

Benda becomes the third recruit to new head coach Oliver Glasner’s squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

The German heads to the City Ground after leaving Premier League rivals Fulham earlier this summer when his contract at Craven Cottage expired.

He follows Xaver Schlager and Ousmane Diomande.
