Nottingham Forest will head to Portugal next week for a 12-day camp with numbers rising, as Chris Wood and Ibrahim Sangare return and Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to step up his comeback.
According to Nottingham Post, Oliver Glasner is targeting additions, with free agent Xaver Schlager in line to sign and the club expected to submit a second bid for Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall.
Hudson-Odoi’s thigh surgery ended his 2025/26 campaign early. Full-back Nicolo Savona, knee, and centre-back Murillo, hamstring, have also been sidelined. None featured in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Notts County.
Glasner said staff believe Hudson-Odoi should be integrated partly on Monday and could be the quickest to return, though they must monitor his reaction to surgery. He added Murillo is training and increasing intensity ahead of a full return.
Wood and Sangare skipped Meadow Lane due to recent World Cup duty, and Glasner joked their arrivals will feel like two new faces. He highlighted Wood’s haul of more than 20 goals the season before last and praised Sangare’s influence. He said the club expect one or two signings too, while urging patience.
Winger Dan Ndoye will not travel to Portugal. After reaching the World Cup quarter-finals with Switzerland, he will take at least three weeks off and return after the camp so he can come back mentally and physically fresh.
