Eintracht Frankfurt are said to be uneasy about Nottingham Forest’s move for Oliver Glasner, amid fears it could affect their pursuit of Arnaud Kalimuendo, Bild claims.
Glasner is poised to sign a three-year deal at the City Ground after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season. He will replace Vitor Pereira, who was dismissed earlier this week.
Pereira had been involved in transfer talks, but any successor is likely to have his own ideas for the Premier League campaign. A desire to assess the squad could influence decisions on outgoing deals.
Kalimuendo spent the second half of last season on loan at Frankfurt and they want to make it permanent. His agreement contained a £23 million purchase option, and the clubs have discussed lowering the fee.
Frankfurt are waiting to see whether Glasner could scupper their bid for the 24-year-old, with the possibility of the incoming manager wanting to reassess the situation mooted.
Glasner managed Frankfurt for two years before joining Palace in 2024. Forest have yet to confirm his appointment, and pre-season is due to begin this month.
Kalimuendo joined Forest from Rennes last summer in a £26 million move. He made 14 appearances and scored two goals in the first half of the season, without a Premier League start, then hit six in 19 Bundesliga games. His Forest contract runs until 2030.
